Five months ago, I quit smoking. Today, I’m preparing to bring the Lebanese flag to a 100 km triathlon in Antarctica.
My name is Ibrahim Azzam. I’m a 21-year-old Lebanese software engineer and endurance athlete from Saida. I have been accepted into Antarctic 100, with a challenge ahead of me: a 1 km swim, a 66 km bike ride and a 33 km run.
Since quitting smoking, I have completed official races across swimming, cycling and running. Each race strengthened my commitment to my health and gave me a reason to keep training. Now, I want to take this commitment further and represent Lebanon in Antarctica.
I’m sharing my journey because I want other young people in Lebanon to see a starting point in their own lives. For me, it began with quitting cigarettes and showing up for training. I hope my experience encourages someone else to take their first step.
I have earned acceptance into the event, but reaching the start line requires funding beyond what I’m able to cover alone.
Your contribution will help pay for my race entry and Antarctic expedition package, travel, specialist equipment, training, medical clearance and insurance. The expedition package alone starts at €32,500, before additional travel and preparation costs.
I will share updates on my training, fundraising progress and how your support is used throughout the preparation.
Whether you donate or share this campaign, you help bring this goal closer. Every contribution matters, and every share helps me reach someone who wants to support the journey.
Thank you for helping me work toward a finish with the Lebanese flag in my hands.
