A SECOND CHANCE FOR A FATHER WHO HAS BEEN FIGHTING FOR THREE YEARS

For the past three years, my 68-year-old father has been quietly fighting one of the hardest battles of his life, advanced liver disease. Our family has stood by him through countless treatments, hospitalizations, and many difficult days doing everything we could to delay the need for a liver transplant as it can only be done in Turkey, as advised by his doctors at Hotel Dieu and St. Joseph Hospital.

Unfortunately, his condition has now deteriorated significantly.
Once a healthy man weighing around 75kg, he now weighs only 48 kg !
He has almost completely lost his appetite, and eating has become increasingly difficult due to serious complications of his liver disease including esophageal and gastric varices. He is also suffering from significant fluid accumulation in his abdomen and legs making movement difficult, with episodes of severe shortness of breath that sometimes require respiratory support.

Day by day, the illness has taken away his strength, his independence and much of the life he once knew.

But there is still hope 🤍

At this advanced stage, a liver transplant is his best chance for survival and for returning to us, the family who has been fighting beside him for the last couple of years.

We have managed $10,000, but the cost of the transplant $55,000 remains far beyond from what our family can afford.
