Beta Thalassemia Major
History of Present IlIness
Ahmed is 8 years 10 months old Syrian boy, A known case of Beta Thalassemia Major diagnosed at the age of 2 years.
He is on regular monthly Blood transfusion every 3 to 4 weeks. He is also on regular daily Iron Chelating Therapy (Daily oral Deferasirox 360 mg). Last CBC before blood transfusion 19/11/2025: WBC 9.56 Hemoglobin 7.1 PLT

Medications
On daily oral Deferasirox 360 mg.
Physical Examination Findings
Vitally stable
Chest: Clear
CVS: S1+S2+0
Abdomen: Soft lax no organomegaly
CNS: Grossly intact.
Assessment and Diagnosis
A known case of Beta Thalassemia Major
Treatment Plan
To continue regular blood transfusion every 3 to 4 weeks.
To continue oral deferasirox 360 mg once daily.
Patient is candidate for Bone marrow transplantation.
