Support War-Affected Students: Empower the Future
Introduction: At Learn and Work Academy, we believe education is not just a privilege—it's a fundamental right. Yet, due to the devastating wars ravaging countries in the Middle East, millions are deprived of this essential right. Entire generations are losing access to education, and we're committed to reversing this trend by offering scholarships and educational support to those who need it most. The Problem: War has disrupted every facet of life in the Middle East, with education being one of the hardest-hit sectors. According to UNESCO, over 14,000 educational institutions have been damaged or destroyed in the region. Furthermore, more than 13 million children, youth, and adults have been forced to abandon their education, robbing them of opportunities for a brighter future. Economic hardships, combined with the destruction of schools and universities, have left students with limited or no access to learning. The hopes and dreams of thousands of bright individuals are being shattered, and without intervention, these numbers will continue to rise. Our Solution: Learn and Work Academy is stepping in to fill this educational void. Through our scholarship programs, we provide financial aid, educational resources, and pathways to success for students from war-affected regions. We aim to restore hope by empowering individuals to pursue their education despite the odds stacked against them. Meet Our Students: Amina: A mother displaced by conflict, trying to rebuild her life while pursuing her nursing degree. With our support, she's creating a new future for herself and her children. Omar: A young man from a village devastated by war. Thanks to our scholarship, he's studying engineering, and he dreams of rebuilding his community. Your Impact: By donating to Learn and Work Academy, you will: Help rebuild the futures of students affected by war by providing them with the education they need to thrive. Contribute to the restoration of educational institutions that have been damaged or destroyed. Support the creation of a more stable and prosperous future for war-torn regions by investing in the power of education. Call to Action: Join us in our mission to restore education to war-affected students in the Middle East. Your donation will directly support scholarships and grants, helping students resume their education and pursue their dreams. Together, we can make a lasting difference and give hope to a generation that needs it the most. Donate today and help us shape a brighter future.

Celebrating 50 and Giving Back
As I celebrate my 50th birthday and cherish the precious moments with my beloved family and friends, I feel truly blessed. I've always believed that true happiness comes from giving rather than receiving. Having you as a close friend is the greatest blessing and gift I could ask for. If you feel compelled to offer something for my 50th celebration, please consider contributing to the campaign below, which supports education in my village by assisting with tuition fees and providing essential financial aid to our local school. Fayçal EL DARWICHE WHY DONATE? The goal of this fundraising campaign is to support the education system in the village of Zefta, Lebanon, as part of the El-Darwiche Foundation for Heritage and Development's initiatives. The funds raised will be matched by the EL DARWICHE family and managed by the foundation to maximize impact, particularly in enhancing the inclusion of vulnerable populations in the education system. EL-DARWICHE FOUNDATION FOR HERITAGE AND DEVELOPMENT / DAR ZEFTA FOUNDATION OVERVIEW: “El-Darwiche Foundation for Heritage and Development” or “Dar Zefta Foundation” was established in 2017 with a purpose to accelerate social and economic development in the village of Zefta and its surroundings. Over the years, the family preserved Dar Zefta, its 100+ year Ottoman house, considered as one of the jewels of heritage in South of Lebanon. Investments over the years in the house and its surrounding contributed to the local economy, preserved the village’s social memories, and helped put Zefta on the local tourism map. Despite current challenges and war, Dar Zefta remains committed to its employees and its local development targets 2. Launch of La Route des Arts, an itinerary of 18 diverse artists from the South, with most having their ateliers locally. The project offers the opportunity to visit these ateliers, get to know the artists personally and discover their work and their inspiring stories 3. Supporting the Education system in the village, by paying tuition fees and providing the local school with much needed financial support for its normal operations. 4. Beautification of the village: Uplifting the plaza of the village, with 1200 sqm of basalt stone pavement, and the planting of 600 plants and trees including cypress, orange, pine, bougainvillea, jacaranda, and laurel trees. Last year, we at PEAKS WELLNESS, have successfully with your support completed a full year of education to 9 vulnerable girls aged between 4-18 who are living in Ghedres Orphanage Center. We will remind the context: These girls come from challenging backgrounds, and it is crucial to create an environment that promotes their physical, emotional, educational and psychological well-being. Considering that the girls come from different families with various vulnerabilities, we will factor and remind the following needs: - Provision of basic needs: Since the families are poor, the girls are in need of accessing basic needs such as food, clothing, and healthcare. - Cultural sensitivity and inclusion: Given the different religions and nationalities of the girls, the project will ensure that their religious and cultural sensitivities are taken into consideration, promoting an inclusive and respectful environment. - Education support: The girls in the center are struggling with their education due to unstable home environments. In addition to securing basic education, it is important to focus on vocational education, incorporating programs that provide educational support such as tutoring and mentoring programs will ensure the girls receive education support. - Rehabilitation support: Some girls are dealing with the aftermath of living with drug-addict parents or families that have gone through a divorce, death, or separation. As such, psychotherapeutic services and rehabilitation programs should be implemented to ensure they receive the necessary psychological and emotional support. Hence, the project will include several divisions: the rehabilitation and renovation of the center, developing a comprehensive plan for their daily routine with extra-curricular activities and psychotherapy, and providing vocational education to empower them for a brighter future. With the accumulation of crises in Lebanon, which led to the collapse of public education in the last years, we found ourselves forced to move these girls to private schools to complete their education process, which added to us an additional burden, which in addition to the regular expenses mentioned above, imposes on us a schooling fees ranging from 2,500 to 3,500 US dollars per year for each girl. Through your donations to PEAKS WELLNESS, you help sustain the provision of services and increase the capacity to accommodate more humanitarian cases. Thanks for your generous support!

Help Save the Nour Center

Help Save the Nour Center
The Nour Center was founded in 2013 to meet the educational needs of newly arrived Syrian children and families in Burj al Barajneh. Surveys for the 2017-18 school estimated that between 50-60% of Syrian children living in Lebanon were not attending school. The numbers have increased nowadays because of the economic crisis that Lebanon is passing through. Additionally, many of those newly arrived families bring with them stories of war and displacement. There is a critical need for safe and supportive environments within their receiving community, and the Nour Center was founded with that intention. We believe that the Nour Center, targeted towards children and youth who are otherwise unable to go to school, is a fundamental part of the development and well-being of our community. On an individual level, students at the Nour Center are able to develop their personal competencies and interpersonal skills at an early age. On a community level, students learn about their rights and responsibilities to each other and their larger communities. In these past years, the Nour Center has expanded from an initial class of 25 students to now serving over 200 students each day. At the Nour Center we work on empowering children and youth (aged 5-24) to reclaim their education and their future. We believe that education has the power to transform lives. The aim and intention of this project is to give each child the care and education they need in their early years, and to provide students who have been out of school the opportunity to re-enter an educational setting that recognizes their unique experiences. At the Nour Center, we work each day to build a healthy and strong generation of young people, helping parents and children to realize their full potentials within a challenging environment. Our rights-based learning is introduced and reinforced through daily curriculum based in Arabic, English and math lessons, life skills sessions based around health and hygiene, in addition to indoor and outdoor activities that challenge and develop the child’s creativity, imagination, thinking skills, and social skills.

With all the hardships Lebanese are going through, 1.500 children are now at risk of losing access to education and their future, and thousands of children in the region will no longer have access to school. Two schools, Saint Coeurs School and Notre Dame Machmouche School - both located in Jezzine, Southern Lebanon and the only two schools serving 52 nearby villages - will be forced to close their doors unless they receive urgent and immediate help: Both schools have existed for over 100 years, and have historically been subsidized by the Ministry of Social Affairs, but have stopped receiving any aid since 2016. Without assistance and without your help, both schools will cease to exist. A donation of 4,000,000 Lebanese Pounds (an equivalent of 180 USD ( fresh) approximately) can finance the tuition of a child for an entire year. Please donate today to offer these children and Lebanon a better life and future, which they truly deserve to see. Our ultimate goal is to raise a total of $90,000 in order to keep the schools running for the upcoming year. We are raising these funds through Loubnaniyoun, an NGO founded in June 2012 under Decree Number 1140, that supports education through scholarship programs and that will take zero administrative cost on your donations. Every penny of your donations will go directly to the two schools. Please help us transform the lives of thousands children. We would sincerely appreciate any support you can offer to help Lebanese in need.
