Hi everyone! TLDR: Please help this student pay for a debt I loaned out of desperation. So, for context, I was in a rough patch financially. My major was an expensive one (Architecture), and I lived cities away from my hometown. I work part-time, but I found myself getting sick often and the equipment I needed for my major had me resort to loans to stay afloat. Why? I didn't want to trouble my parents even more. I was able pay on time at first. But then, I found myself struggling between academics and my part-time job. I also don't want to burden my parents with my mistakes; I want to face the consequences of my actions without giving them much trouble. I live in a third world country, where that amount feels overwhelming. I will take accountability for my irresponsible actions, and I'm trying to pay it off little by little. Though, with the botton of my heart, I would like to ask for help from you kind folks. I fucked up, and I'm facing the music. You guys don't know me, but believe me when I say that I won't ever do irresponsible loans again. The mental stress is too much; especially when you're still a broke student who's got more to learn about the world. I'll be forever grateful if you donate. Even a dollar is a great help. Despite many difficulties, I was selected to study at the South Eastern University of Sri Lanka, where I am currently pursuing a degree in Information Technology. My mother, who is not formally employed, works hard by taking care of babies in nearby houses to support our family. She has struggled a lot to raise us and to bring me to this level. Since I also have two younger sisters, it is very difficult for us to manage our living expenses and their education. In this situation, I cannot ask my mother for money to buy a laptop. Unfortunately, I don’t have one, but I am eager to purchase a laptop to support my studies. Since my degree is related to IT, I cannot continue effectively without it.
