Help me Keep my Family Safe & Healthy in Ethiopia
My name is Tamirat Zerga, I am 40 years old and living with HIV, and I am reaching out with a humble but urgent plea for support. My family and I are facing immense challenges, struggling daily to meet even our most basic needs. I am the primary caregiver for my sister Elizabeth (53), who has endured severe mental health struggles following traumatic events, including a car accident and sexual assault in 2014. I am also responsible for my aunt Kilu (60), who is deaf and unable to work due to her disability. Due to my own health condition, I am unable to secure stable employment, making it extremely difficult to provide food, safe housing, medications, and essential care for my family. We face a debt of approximately $2,000 USD, which is beyond our capacity to repay, and we often struggle to cover rent, utilities, and medical expenses. I am appealing to your organization for humanitarian assistance, financial support, or guidance on programs that could help us maintain stability and dignity. Any support you can provide would be life-changing, allowing us to focus on improving our health, securing essential care, and preserving hope in these incredibly difficult circumstances. Your generosity would not only provide immediate relief but also empower us to survive and rebuild our lives with dignity. With sincere gratitude, Tamirat Zerga Addis Ababa, Ethiopia Tel: +251 929 018 273 Email: tamirat.zerga@gmail.com

EMERGENCY: PLEASE, WE ARE BEGGING FOR HELP.
SUMATRA IS DYING. CHILDREN ARE SCREAMING FOR THEIR PARENTS. THIS IS A DISASTER UNLIKE ANYTHING WE HAVE EVER SEEN. Flash Floods and Landslides, December 2025 Over 940 Dead, Hundreds Missing, 300,000 Homeless “I held my son’s hand, and the water took him.” A father in North Sumatra, still covered in mud, searching for his 8-year-old boy. He has been digging for three days. With swollen hands. With no food. With no hope, except for the kindness of strangers. Stories like his are everywhere. Everywhere we turn, someone is crying, searching, or praying over the bodies of the people they love. This is not a normal disaster. This is a mass tragedy that has broken the heart of our nation. WHAT IS HAPPENING RIGHT NOW? From December 4 to 8, the sky opened and never closed. Rain fell like bullets. Rivers exploded out of their banks. Whole villages disappeared in seconds. Tonight’s heartbreaking numbers: • More than 940 lives lost • Hundreds still missing, buried under mud • Over 300,000 people with nothing left • More than 10,800 homes destroyed • Children drinking dirty floodwater because clean water is gone One mother told our team: “My children are crying from hunger. I cannot give them anything. Not even water.” Imagine hearing your own child say, “Mama, I am cold,” and there is nothing you can give them. No blanket. No food. No shelter. No hope. This is reality for thousands of families tonight. WE ARE SEEING THINGS NOBODY SHOULD EVER SEE Our volunteers are walking through villages where: • Children are sleeping on wet ground in torn clothes • Babies are shaking from the cold • Elderly people are coughing nonstop because of infection • Families are huddling under trees because they have no roof left One volunteer wrote: “I covered a shivering baby with my jacket. Her mother kept saying, ‘Please save my child. God bless you.’” These people are not asking for comfort. They are asking to survive the night. YOUR HELP CAN SAVE A FAMILY IN MINUTES Even the smallest donation becomes a lifeline: 30 USD (Rp 500,000) Provides food and emergency shelter for a full family for two weeks. 50 USD Provides blankets, tarps, and clean water for families sleeping in the cold. 100 USD Provides diapers, baby formula, medicine, and hygiene kits for mothers. 250 USD Provides a complete survival package for an entire displaced family. You are not giving money. You are giving a family the chance to stay alive. HOW WE WILL USE YOUR SUPPORT Our target is Rp 2.5 billion, approximately 150,000 USD. One hundred percent will go directly to the victims. • Food packages for 10,000 families – Rp 1.2 billion • Clean water and purification tablets – Rp 100 million • Tarps, blankets, and sleeping mats – Rp 300 million • Women’s hygiene kits and baby supplies – Rp 500 million • Medicines and first aid – Rp 300 million Every rice bag, every blanket, every medicine pack will be documented. THE NEXT 48 HOURS ARE CRITICAL If we cannot deliver: • Rice • Clean water • Baby formula • Medicines thousands more will become sick or die. We must act now, not tomorrow or next week. FULL TRANSPARENCY, EVERY DAY We will post: • Receipts • Supply videos • Distribution footage • Detailed updates You will see exactly how your donation is saving lives. PLEASE, DO NOT LOOK AWAY If you cannot donate, sharing this campaign can still save a family. One share on WhatsApp can feed hungry children. One post on Instagram can send blankets to freezing babies. One repost on X can help a family find clean water tonight. Please help us reach the world. Help us save these families before it is too late. FROM THE PEOPLE OF SUMATRA: THANK YOU To everyone reading this, you are a miracle to us. Your compassion is the only light we have in this darkness. May God protect you and your family from every disaster. May your kindness return to you a thousand times. Sumatra is crying for help. Please, be the one who answers.
