Lebanon is going through the worst crisis it has ever endured. It’s financial and economic crisis ranks among the worst economic crisis globally. From the explosion (The 2nd biggest of all time), to the protests, to hyper inflation, people are in desperate need for the most basic things like food, water, medicine, clothing, and bills. Lebanon has witnessed a drastic collapse in basic services. Any help goes a long way. Even 50$ could feed someone for a month. I will be using your donations to bring families in Lebanon gift boxes that include home necessities, as well as cash to help pay for medicine and hospital bills. The UN children’s agency has warned that children in Lebanon face critical levels of hunger, illness and missed education as 80 per cent of the population has been plunged into poverty by the country’s economic crisis, deemed one of the world’s worst since 1850. As the Holy Month approaches, many Lebanese families cannot afford to break their fast. A food care package costs $17 and can feed a family of four during the whole month. One night, when all the family were dining in the salon, the roof start to fritter and suddenly all the roof of the salon fall down and damaged all the parts of the house. Because most of the rooves of the house were deteriorated, they all fall down in few days after this terrible night. Meghterbin Mejtemiin cannot stand idly by and watch the atrocities happening in Lebanon, so, we are launching the Solar Powered Lebanon initiative to help bring power to the country. This sustainable solution will require some fundraising which we will launch soon. This project will be done in partnership with Baytna Baytak and in collaboration with other NGOs and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) that will take care of installation and mapping Lebanese houses. Priority of houses will initially be given to those with medical complications in need of medical supplies. In light of the series of unfortunate events in Akkar, which includes the recent wildfires and tragic fuel warehouse explosion on August 14th, we at Make a Difference Lebanon have initiated this disaster relief to support Akkar in the below: 1. Provide first and second-degree burn medicines 2.Pay hospital bills and other incurred costs for the families of the victims 3.Support in the rehabilitation of the dislocated families in both events. Akkar Governorate is one of the country’s most deprived regions, with severe poverty. Out of a population of around 1.2 million people, around 70% live in poverty. Accordingly, we will also be distributing food parcels to families in need in parallel.
