Adam is 13 years old and living with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD), a progressive genetic disease that gradually weakens the muscles and makes everyday activities increasingly difficult.
Despite the challenges he faces every day, Adam remains a courageous and hopeful young boy who dreams of living with dignity, continuing his education, and maintaining as much independence as possible.
As his condition progresses, Adam urgently needs an electronic wheelchair that will allow him to move safely, attend appointments, participate in daily life, and reduce the physical strain on both himself and his family. In addition to the wheelchair, Adam requires ongoing medical care, therapies, medications, and specialized support to help manage his condition and improve his quality of life.
The burden on Adam’s family has become overwhelming. To provide him with the care he needs, family members have had to reduce and even stop working, creating significant financial hardship. The costs of medical treatment, transportation, equipment, and daily care continue to grow while their income has dramatically decreased.
