A Safe Home with Light, Warmth, and Dignity
My name is Hoda Al Ghoussein, and I am 74 years old Lebanese woman living in Mechref, Chouf, Lebanon. In recent years, life here has become very difficult because of the ongoing electricity crisis. Most days, we have little to no reliable power. In my home, this means there is often no electricity for basic needs — no dependable refrigerator to safely store food, no guaranteed hot water for a shower, and no stable heating during the cold winter months. At my age, living without hot water, proper heating, or consistent electricity is not simply uncomfortable — it is unsafe and exhausting. I am a widow, and my children are doing everything they can to take care of me and keep me in my home. We are trying our best to manage, but without stable electricity and with parts of the house in need of repair, daily life has become increasingly challenging. I am hoping to raise $22,000 to install a solar power system that can provide continuous electricity for essential appliances and lighting. The funds will also help waterproof the roof before winter, provide house heating during cold winters, repair the broken main entrance doors for security, get a reliable fridge to store food, ensure I have hot water for showers, and complete other urgent fixes so the house remains warm, dry, and safe. This is not about luxury or renovation. It is about having the basic dignity of stable electricity, a warm shower, safe food storage, and a secure home in my later years. My hope is to complete these installations and repairs as soon as possible, so I can live safely and with peace of mind. Any support, no matter the amount, brings me closer to having a stable and safe home. Thank you for reading my story and for your kindness.

Heartbroken but Still Hoping

Heartbroken but Still Hoping
My name is Sona, and this is the hardest thing I’ve ever had to write. Life has a way of breaking you in places you never imagined. I never thought I would be here heartbroken, emotionally exhausted, and standing alone trying to put my life back together. I gave my heart, my trust, and my energy to someone who I believed would be part of my future. But love doesn’t always turn out the way we hope. The person I cared for deeply ended up hurting me in ways I never saw coming. Words were said that cut me, and actions were taken that left me feeling unwanted, unsupported, and empty. I tried to stay strong. I tried to hold on. But sometimes love collapses, and when it does, it leaves a woman shattered in silence. For weeks, I’ve been carrying the weight of emotional pain that I can’t even fully explain. The stress, the disappointment, the heartbreak, it all became too much. And now, instead of continuing to drown in a situation that’s hurting me, I know I have to take a step that scares me… but also gives me hope. I want to start a new life, build a peaceful future for myself and my child, and finally breathe again. I dream of moving to Canada, where I can work, rebuild, and create a stable life full of dignity and peace. But right now, I am financially stuck. I have no job, my savings are gone, and the emotional stress has slowed me down completely. I’m trying to raise $2,000, not for luxury, not for comfort, but simply to begin the process of rebuilding my life. It will help me: Start my visa process Get the documents I need Pay for application fees Take the first steps toward a fresh start in Canada Stand on my feet again after everything I’ve gone through I never imagined asking strangers for help. But today, I am here with humility and hope. If you’ve ever had your heart broken… if you’ve ever had to rebuild yourself from nothing… then you know how much courage it takes to start again. Every donation, big or small, means more than money. It means someone believes in me. It means my story wasn’t ignored. It means hope. If you cannot donate, please share my story. One share could be the reason someone decides to help me. Thank you for reading. Thank you for caring. And thank you for giving me a chance to rise again. Sona ❤️
