To complete housework and start a new business
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am 57 years old, of Sri Lankan nationality, a retired private-sector worker, and the father of one daughter, who is still engaged in higher education. I have to say that my housewife has also been suffering from being unwell for a long time. After retiring, I had collected all my funds and began to build my own house as well. I had to purchase a small land also, because we had lived in rental homes for 25 years. My target was to complete building the house and start a new business.
Unfortunately, due to the Corona pandemic and the collapse of the Sri Lankan economy, all my efforts were in vain. Before this crisis, I bought a 50 kg bag of cement for 950 rupees, and during the crisis, I had to buy it at an unaffordable price of 3500 rupees, and in parallel, other goods and services increased immensely. Even then, I could not stop or postpone my project halfway, but due to the high rent and the rapid depletion of my money, I had to settle in a half-finished house.
I am currently working a very small job to make ends meet and have to spend a significant amount of money on my daughter's higher education, which has put me under severe financial and mental stress.
Under this situation, I am seeking your generous support to complete the remaining work on my house and to start a suitable business.
For this, I am seeking a donation of $10,000 to complete the remaining work on my house and $20,000 to start a business.
