Letter of Request for Assistance in Repairing My Home
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing this letter with a heavy heart, with the hope that my words will reach your kindness and inspire your compassion. My name is Nimesh Chamika Amarasena , and I am a resident of Vilachchiya in the Anuradhapura district of Sri Lanka. Life has not been easy for me and my little family, and today I gather all the courage I have to request your generous assistance in repairing my broken home.
Our house, the only shelter we have, has become dangerously dilapidated over time. The roof leaks in many places, the walls are cracked, and during rainy days water floods inside, leaving us in fear and discomfort. I cannot describe the pain I feel when my two small children have to curl up in wet corners at night, shivering from cold and unable to sleep. As a parent, nothing hurts more than being unable to provide a safe, secure home for your children.
Education is something I deeply value, but whenever it rains, our entire home becomes unlivable. On such days, my children cannot read, study, or engage in any educational activities, and I watch helplessly as their young dreams are disturbed by circumstances beyond my control. I know education is their only path to a better future, but without a safe house, even this simple right slips away.
I am not a person with a permanent job. I work as a daily wage laborer, which means some days I earn just enough to feed my children, while on other days I return home empty-handed. Saving money for house repairs has been impossible, no matter how hard I work. This reality weighs heavily on me every single day.
Therefore, I humbly and earnestly request your help. Even the smallest contribution you make will bring us closer to having a roof that does not leak, walls that can withstand the wind, and a home where my children can sleep in peace and study without interruption. I am not asking for luxuries — only for the basic human dignity of living in a safe and secure shelter.
