Helping my family survive and regain hope for life
This is the story of me, Abdelrahman from the Gaza Strip. I dedicated myself to studying and working, building a future, buying a house, and starting a family. I was living the life I had dreamed of, until a fateful October when everything changed.
The war on Gaza erupted suddenly, and in an instant, my house was bombed, my job was lost, and my family was displaced.
We sought refuge with a friend in northern Gaza, but the relentless bombing, the fear for my brothers' children, and the terror of the women forced us to flee south.
Despite the lack of transportation, we paid a large sum of money to escape, risking our lives on a perilous journey.
On our way south, bombs fell around us, targeting people and cars.
We miraculously survived, but the truth is, there is no safe place in Gaza. When we reached the south, we joined nearly fifty relatives in a cramped house, sharing one bathroom and sleeping close together. Each day, we struggled to find food, water, and medicine, especially for my parents. My 72-year-old father can barely move, and my 66-year-old mother suffers from asthma and diabetes, with no access to proper treatment.
On the morning of January 10, our nightmare deepened. I woke to the screams of my family; my mother had been shot in the head by a quadcopter. We rushed her to the hospital, but the treatment and medicine she needs are unavailable in Gaza.
We live with two sisters, a brother and their ten children in the same place. We all share food and water and they all work in the hospital to save the lives of patients.
I am pleading for help to save my parents and brothers And their children from the horrors of this war. Please, help me get them the medical care they desperately need. Help me rebuild my home and my life. Your support can make all the difference.
