Help Me Build a Home for My Family – A Dream We’re
Hello, my name is Chamila Herath, and I’m a 36-year-old husband, father, and caregiver from Sri Lanka. I’m reaching out today with a heart full of hope and a dream that feels more distant with each passing day — to build a safe, small home for my family.
Right now, I’m working hard every single day, doing all I can to take care of the people I love — my elderly parents, my grandmother, my wife, and our beautiful young son. But even with all my effort, my current job and income simply aren’t enough. The rising cost of living is making it feel nearly impossible to make ends meet, let alone save for a home.
Adding to the struggle, I live with diabetes, which makes everyday life even more challenging — physically and financially. But I keep going, because my family depends on me.
We don’t dream of luxury — just a simple, stable place to call our own. A roof that doesn't leak, walls that keep out the rain, and a place where my child can grow up safely. Right now, even that feels out of reach without help.
If you’ve ever known the pain of wanting to give your family something better and not being able to, then I hope my words reach your heart. Your support — no matter how small — would mean the world to us.
Please help us turn this dream into a reality. Every bit brings us closer to a future filled with hope, safety, and peace.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart,
Chamila Herath
