Urgently Need a Safe, Small Home for My Child 🙏
Dear Friends and Kind Hearts,
I am a father from Sri Lanka, writing this with a heavy heart but filled with hope for my 3.5-year-old child's future.
As you can see from the photos, our family home is currently in a very dangerous condition. The walls were badly cracked and structurally compromised. To ensure my child’s safety, I recently had to break down the most unsafe parts of the house myself. Every single day, I lived in constant fear that something might collapse and hurt my baby.
Because of this, we have not been able to live in our own home for the past 8 months. We have no safe place of our own, so we are currently staying at my father-in-law’s house.
I am not trying to rebuild a large or luxurious house. My only dream and goal is to build a small, safe, and secure living space where my child can sleep and grow without fear.
To keep costs as low as possible, I am managing everything myself. I am not hiring a contractor. Instead, I plan to do the construction using daily-paid laborers and by reusing any undamaged materials from the old structure.
Based on the current cost of materials and basic labor in Sri Lanka, I am hoping to raise USD 3,500. Every dollar of this amount will be strictly used for essential construction needs, such as cement, sand, bricks, and labor, to build a safe structure.
