Liliane Cheaito was full of life and spent her days as a new mom to her two-month-year-old son. Then, on August 4th, 2020, her life as she knew it came to a stop due to the Beirut port explosion. Liliane, now 28 years old, has spent nearly every moment of the last two years in silent suffering after she sustained severe damage to her frontal brain lobes that required three surgeries. Now,She is now required to be moved to a specialized advanced rehabilitation center to pursue her treatment in Turkey because it's not available in Lebanon. Funds raised will cover transporting her to Turkey and giving her the proper therapy needed to be back to her family and 2-year-old son Ali. Please help liliane, help her be able to hold and hug her son agian.

We never thought we'd be starting this campaign. We never thought we'd find ourselves incapable of covering the cost of our mother's treatment. Nawal, our dear mom, has been fighting cancer for the past 5 years. She is a real warrior but her health is deteriorating very quickly. In 2017, she was diagnosed with lung and liver cancer. Our mom fought it well and won the battle. In 2021, cancer attacked her again but this time, it spread to her stomach and digestive system. As you can see in the photos, she cannot even eat anymore and has a long away ahead. Mom's life depends on the availability of medication, often out of stock in Lebanon due to the current crisis. She is supposed to have her medicine that costs 3000$, every week! We started this fundraiser hoping to gather as much as we can because we don't want anything to take our Mom away from us. We cannot stand seeing her in this situation so we rely on your support because our community has always been united. If you are reading this and you can contribute, we'd be extremely grateful. Just like you, im a son to my parents, a brother to my sisters, and a friend to loved ones, but unlike you I have been fighting demons for the past 22 years, I suffer from Opiates addiction. Every time I hear about a recovery story i get goosebumps, and I say I will be that person one day. Going in and out of rehab, taking supplements, seeking help at therapists, trying to quit on my own didnt work out so far. And when I say so far its because I was moved by a friend who recovered, who once told me "I am in the most beautiful place right now, I am here with you, listening to you, talking to you, feeling with you...That friend did the IBOGAINE treatment. A treatment that we unfortunately do not have in Lebanon, a very promising way of recovering with very high rates of success. I have to fly all the way to Portugal, to Tabula Rasa Retreat, and there is where it happens. I said whatever it takes, and yes it is not easy, all here asking for help to a case labeled as "Taboo" in our comprehension of addiction. I am trying to raise funds for my case because in our current disasterous situation in Lebanon, I cannot do this on my own, covering the cost of the program, the visa, ticket and passport fees of 4000 USD. But I will rise out of the ashes because Im investing in triumph over the seemingly impossible odds.

In 2015, our family found out that our mom suffers from a chronic brain tumor known as meningioma. She went in for her first operation, but there were no guarantees that the tumor would fully disappear. Two weeks ago, the tumor resurfaced to a diameter of 9cm putting extensive pressure on the entire nervous system and prompting all the opinions from the consulted doctors to conduct an emergency operation as soon as possible. We secured enough funds for the operation, and she managed to pull through, but sadly there were a lot of complications after the surgery which led us here to Fundahope. The current crisis in Lebanon has depleted all other forms of aid or funding, whether government or private sector. Our mother is currently in the ICU with an open tab on the costs of medical services amounting to $23,000 and exponentially increasing by the minute. Due to the political and economical crisis in Lebanon, she can rarely find her medication which is very expensive. She is pursuing a treatment for cancer, she is metastatic. It started with a cervix cancer but now she has cancerous nodes in her torso, neck and other parts of her body. She needs an immunotherapy treatment which is very expensive and the treatment cannot be found here in Lebanon (like almost all meds due to the crisis).my mom need injection wich is not found in lebanon every 3 weeks 2 injections (it cost us 4000$ to buy from outside)
