Her daily life is now limited to just sitting — she cannot cook, clean, or take care of herself anymore. The doctors have said that surgery is the only hope. But her case is complicated. Her thyroid gland was removed years ago, so her body no longer produces thyroid naturally. To prepare for surgery, she needs to take daily thyroid medication and go for weekly blood tests to make sure her thyroid levels are safe. If her thyroid levels are not stable, surgery could be life-threatening. We are a simple family, and the medical costs are overwhelming.
