We, members of the Lebanese youth, wanted to organize a fundraising campaign to finance the electoral campaign of the youngest candidate in Lebanon, Verena El Amil, who will be representing all of us in parliament. A very competent lawyer, Verena embodies today the Lebanese youth's progressive ideas. These principles fuel her campaign and electoral program, and we would like to support her in this journey. Ma3kon (pronounced “maakon” and meaning “with you” in Arabic – معكم) is a grassroots humanitarian initiative that was established in the wake of the devastating August 4th Beirut explosion. The NGO is led and co-founded by three Lebanese university students aiming to ensure the accessibility of essential products to vulnerable communities and marginalized groups in Lebanon such as the LGBTQIA+ community, migrant domestic workers, refugees, and the elderly. Ma3kon supplies menstrual products and diapers (both children and adult size) for established local NGOs and vulnerable groups across Lebanon. Today, we are a group of 27 students dedicated to fighting unequal access to basic hygiene and period poverty in the country. In the past year, we were able to donate over 10,000 period pads and 9,000 diapers to 10 different NGOs across Lebanon. Ma3kon also aims to deconstruct taboos embedded in the Arab world by tackling subjects that revolve around sex education, menstruation, and the LGBTQIA+ community. Ma3kon is part of the Beirut Relief Coalition and has six official partner organizations: - Live Love Beirut - Rifaq El Dareb - Nation Station - Georges Nassim Khoriaty Foundation - Make A Difference - Meghterbin Mejtemiin

Fill a Bag - Fill a Heart
Fill a Bag - Fill a Heart is an annual fundraising event, conducted by Scouts de L'Independence - Mar Elias Ghazir, that aims to provide families in need with food and other essentials during the Christmas season. Typically, this initiative takes place in the form of physical donations collected from various supermarkets and later distributed to the aforementioned families. However, during the past 24 months, Lebanon has entered into a dark economic chapter. The average monthly minimum wage has decreased from $450 in 2019 to approximately $25 in 2021. More than 75% of Lebanon's population is below the internationally defined poverty line. Not to mention, the country is still reeling from the impact of one of the most catastrophic man-made explosions of recent times. For those reasons, we have decided to expand our horizon. This year, we aim to collect a sum of $2,500, which will be used to purchase consumables and essentials in order to help provide for a larger-than-usual target within regions surrounding Lebanon's capital, Beirut. Any small amount goes a long way in drawing smiles on children's faces this Christmas!

Assistance from a Distance-حدك من بعيد is a youth led initiative co-founded by childhood friends in April 2020 that aims to mobilize the effort and creativity of young people in Lebanon to create social change through livelihood assistance. To date we have supported more than 600 families across more than 70 regions in Lebanon with food and hygiene products by mobilizing more than 50 youthful volunteers Last Christmas we were able to support 100 families in 1 week and this year we aim to do the same through crowdfunding efforts. For Christmas 2021 we aim to support 100 families with: -Food boxes -Hygiene products: Detergents( dishwashing/ floor detergents/ clothes detergents/shampoo/soap/face masks/toothpaste/female pads) -Redistribute second hand toys and chocolate to the children of the families we support.

Who are we: For anyone who doesn't know what is Kanisati app, it's a free app, that provides the church’s location, the real time traffic distance between your location and that of the church, the nearest churches to you, the closest prayer times along with the contact info related to each church , masses and prayers schedule in the upcoming days. Kanisati is now covering many churches within the Maronite Catholic Church from the dioceses of Antelias, Baalbeck & Deir el Ahmar, Zahle, Saida, Ehden, Beirut & Zgharta, Jounieh, Sarba, as well as Convents from the Order of Friars Minors Capuchins and from the Carmelites Discalced Order. Why this campaign: Due to financial crisis that we Lebanese are suffering from, and due to the deterioration of the Lira value against the dollar, we aren't able to pay the service fees which are all in US dollar. These fees are for the hosting server, and for the IOS subscription. We need to ensure the continuity of Kanisati app, and not loose all the work that has been done so far. When?
