Building A Masjed- Mohamad Ali Daaboul
محمد علي دعبول يبلغ من العمر 17 عامًا فقط… شابًا مليئًا بالحياة، بالإيمان، وبالأحلام. في يوم ماراثون بيروت، وعلى بُعد كيلومترات قليلة من خط النهاية، سقط على الأرض فجأة. بقي ممددًا لما يقارب 30 دقيقة دون إسعاف حقيقي… دون استجابة طبية عاجلة… دون جهاز إنعاش (AED) قد ينقذ قلب شاب كان لا يزال ينبض بالحياة. وبينما كان يصارع بين الحياة والموت، استمر السباق… واستمر الاحتفال… وكأن شيئًا لم يحدث. كانت والدته تشارك في الماراثون نفسه، لا تعلم أن ابنها كان يحتضر. وجدته لاحقًا على الأرض، والعداؤون يحاولون إنعاشه بقلوب مرتجفة. وعندما وصلت سيارة الإسعاف أخيرًا، لم تكن مجهزة، ولم يكن فيها جهاز إنعاش، ورفضت حتى أن تنقل والدته معه. رجلٌ غريب من منزل قريب كان أرحم، فأخذ الأم بسيارته إلى المستشفى. هذا الألم سيبقى في قلب عائلته ما حيوا.
لكن محمد علي لم يكن مجرد شاب يركض… كان قلبه معلقًا بالمسجد. لم يكن يترك صلاة. كان يحفظ القرآن. كان قريبًا من الله. وكانت آخر صلاة له هي الفجر — صلاها في أرض الماراثون قبل أن يبدأ السباق.
قال رسول الله ﷺ: «إذا مات ابن آدم انقطع عمله إلا من ثلاث: صدقة جارية، أو علم يُنتفع به، أو ولد صالح يدعو له».
واليوم بين أيدينا فرصة أن نهدي محمد علي صدقة جارية تبقى له في قبره نورًا ورحمة — أن نبني مسجدًا باسمه. تخيلوا كل أذان يُرفع، وكل سجدة تُسجد، وكل آية تُتلى، وكل دعاء يُبكى به داخل هذا المسجد، يكون نورًا له في قبره ورفعةً في درجاته.
وقال رسول الله ﷺ: «من بنى لله مسجدًا بنى الله له بيتًا في الجنة».
فلنبنِ له هذا البيت… لنجعل من هذه الفاجعة بابًا للرحمة. تبرعوا بما تستطيعون، فوالله ما عند الله لا يُقاس بحجم المبلغ بل بصدق النية. وإن لم تستطيعوا التبرع، فانشروا الرسالة وادعوا له دعاءً صادقًا من قلوبكم. نسأل الله أن يغفر له، ويرحمه، ويوسّع قبره نورًا، ويرفعه إلى أعلى درجات الفردوس
ويجعل هذا المسجد صدقةً جاريةً له و لكل من ساهم إلى يوم القيامة

Mohamad Ali Daaboul was only 17 years old. A boy full of life, faith, and dreams. On the day of the Beirut Marathon, just kilometers away from the finish line, he collapsed and fell to the ground. He laid there for nearly 30 long minutes without proper medical help — no immediate ambulance, no AED, no urgent care rushing to save him. Even though he died, the marathon continued, the celebration continued ,the finish line remained open. His mother was running that same race, unaware that her son was on the ground. She later found him on the ground, surrounded by runners desperately trying to perform CPR. When an ambulance finally arrived, it was not equipped with an AED. It was not prepared. It even refused to take his mother with him. A stranger from a nearby home showed more mercy and drove her to the hospital himself. This is the pain his family now carries every single day.
Mohamad Ali was not just a runner. He was a young man attached to the masjid. He never missed his prayer. His heart was connected to Allah. He was memorizing the Qur’an. And his last prayer was Fajr — prayed on the field before the marathon began.
The Prophet ﷺ said: “When a person dies, his deeds come to an end except for three: ongoing charity (Sadaqah Jariyah), beneficial knowledge, or a righteous child who prays for him.”
Today, we have the opportunity to give Mohamad Ali something that will continue for him in his grave — a masjid built in his name. Imagine every adhan called, every sujood made, every ayah recited, every tear shed in dua inside that masjid becoming light for him. This will be Sadaqa Jareya not only for him, but also for everyone who donates.
The Prophet ﷺ also said: “Whoever builds a mosque for Allah, Allah will build for him a house in Paradise.”
Let us build this house for Mohamad Ali. Let us turn this tragedy into mercy. Donate whatever you can — no amount is small in the sight of Allah.
