Hope for Mireille Support Her Fight Against Cancer
Hope for Mireille – Support Her Fight Against Cancer This fundahope page has been set up for our dear friend, Mireille. Mireille, a beloved mother to Christia and Alexia, an amazing wife to Roy, a loving daughter to Gretta, a supportive sister to Anita, a loyal friend, and an active member of her parish community, is facing the toughest battle of her life. Known for her kindness, wisdom, infectious smile, and selfless nature, Mireille has always had a positive outlook on life, radiating Love, Faith, and Hope through her daily interactions with others and her never-fading smile. But now, Mireille is in desperate need of our help. In November 2022, on the night before Mireille was to defend her doctoral thesis and be presented with her Doctorate in Education, she received life-altering news: news that would stop her from celebrating one of her greatest achievements and contributions to education. Mireille was diagnosed with Primary Mediastinal Large B-cell Non Hodgkin Lymphoma, and she has been bravely fighting this ruthless disease ever since. She has been through four protocols of chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and a bone marrow transplant, with an unfortunate aggressive recurrence following each treatment. However, Mireille’s warrior nature, her zest for life, her determination to grow old with her husband, her need to stand by her daughters as they navigate through life, and the dedication of her medical team have helped her fight each battle fiercely and with Love, Faith, and Hope. Sadly, the results of her last PET CT scan in August 2024 show Mireille now has Stage IV cancer and her health is rapidly deteriorating. We, her family and friends, are determined there is Hope for Mireille. Mireille’s cancer can be fought through a crucial life-saving treatment: CAR-T cell therapy. Because CAR-T cell therapy is not available in Lebanon, Mireille will need to travel the United Arab Emirates or the United States in the next few weeks to start her treatment. The cost of this treatment is 500,000 USD; money that her family does not have access to. Our Hope for Mireille is being threatened by the financial cost of this treatment. This is where we can make a difference and restore Hope for Mireille. We have organized this GoFundMe page to support Mireille and her family. Your generous donations can bring hope and strength to Mireille, giving her the chance to undergo CAR-T Cell therapy which could save her life. Please join us in this cause. Every contribution will make a difference in helping Mireille fight this battle for Christia, Alexia, Roy, Gretta, Anita, and all those who know, love, and need her. Through Love, Faith, and Hope, we can save Mireille. Hope for Mireille.

Youth Innovators Program

Youth Innovators Program
The campaign aims to empower 50 youths from the Beirut area, aged between 15 and 25 years old, in Lebanon's disadvantaged communities with essential climate change skills. In turn, these 50 youths will train another 500 peers in essential climate change skills, forming a youth committee dedicated to climate change from among interested individuals, and projects to fight climate change. The "Empowering Youth Green-Innovator" campaign is designed to equip young individuals, specifically 50 youths aged 15-25 from disadvantaged communities in Beirut, with essential skills to combat climate change. These disadvantaged communities face challenges stemming from financial constraints and the devastating impacts of the Beirut Blast, which have left lingering psychological and physical issues. Youth will use a peer-to-peer strategy to train an additional 500 youths across Beirut in essential climate change life skills. Beirut recently faced unprecedented high temperatures and clear signs of escalating climate change impacts; The hottest temperature measured from 1949 to January 2024 was reported by the Houche Al Oumara weather station. In September 2020, the record temperature of 44.3 °C was reported. from extreme heatwaves causing outdoor burns to the reduction of green spaces and inadequate public guidance on environmental practices like recycling and waste management. Amidst these environmental challenges, a significant gap in climate change awareness and practical skills among the youth has been identified. The urgency of addressing this educational gap is underscored by predictions from the Ministry of Environment, which forecast a stark decline in Lebanon's GDP by 14% by 2040 and 32% by 2080 due to climate change effects. Highlighting this urgency, Nour Naccache a volunteer at Lebanese Spotlight (LSL) aged 22 years old and head of the activity department recently for youth at LSL noted during a Lebanese spotlight activity, “We, the youth in Lebanon, lack the real skills to fight climate change and awareness. The programs we have are superficial. We need profound skills and in-depth knowledge to take real action in our city, Beirut.” To counter this, the proposal is to start with a focused campaign: small-scale, targeted training sessions. These sessions will consist of 5 groups, each with 10 participants, meeting weekly for two months. Each two-hour session will be interactive, led by a facilitator, and aimed at fostering project ideas related to climate change from the youths. The initiative aims not only to educate but also to empower participants to create tangible solutions, potentially illustrated through infographics. Facilitators, each possessing a unique set of skills, will guide the youths in developing impactful climate action projects. join us in expanding this initiative to reach an additional 500 youths across Beirut. Your contribution can make a significant impact on our community’s climate resilience.

HELP US GET BACK ON OUR FEET
For 5 years, we have ran this rescue mission with so much passion, love, pouring our soul and heart into it❤️ We have successfully rescued, rehabilitated and rehomed over 100 dogs abroad, in different parts of the world and currently have 136 rescues, 80 of them are dogs and 56 of them are cats, between these babies, there’s the 2 legged dogs, blind dogs and cats, handicapped, sick, seniors, cancer patients etc.. Unfortunately it’s been months now and we have been severely affected by the conflict, leading us to lose 99% of our supporters. This had led us to become in debt, and with every month, we sank more and more💔 Currently we owe over 16,423$ just in boarding fees, food fees, pet taxi fees, vet fees, medicine, medical food etc… With the situation worsening, more people started dumping their dogs and cats, we started seeing more abuse and more critical cases, like paralyzed dogs and cats, shot etc… leading to us to take over too many cats and dogs in a short amount of time. We are now reaching out to our community so we can reach our goal to cover our fees until End of September. This goal would be easily reachable if everyone that sees it, donates as little as 1$. YES 1$ will change our fate. As of today, we are unfortunately officially closing our doors to all new intakes. This decision was not taken lightly, it is with a heartbroken heart, a sore heart and endless tears💔 so many animals need us but the financial constraint is stopping us. Please consider donating and sharing

Last year, we at PEAKS WELLNESS, have successfully with your support completed a full year of education to 9 vulnerable girls aged between 4-18 who are living in Ghedres Orphanage Center. We will remind the context: These girls come from challenging backgrounds, and it is crucial to create an environment that promotes their physical, emotional, educational and psychological well-being. Considering that the girls come from different families with various vulnerabilities, we will factor and remind the following needs: - Provision of basic needs: Since the families are poor, the girls are in need of accessing basic needs such as food, clothing, and healthcare. - Cultural sensitivity and inclusion: Given the different religions and nationalities of the girls, the project will ensure that their religious and cultural sensitivities are taken into consideration, promoting an inclusive and respectful environment. - Education support: The girls in the center are struggling with their education due to unstable home environments. In addition to securing basic education, it is important to focus on vocational education, incorporating programs that provide educational support such as tutoring and mentoring programs will ensure the girls receive education support. - Rehabilitation support: Some girls are dealing with the aftermath of living with drug-addict parents or families that have gone through a divorce, death, or separation. As such, psychotherapeutic services and rehabilitation programs should be implemented to ensure they receive the necessary psychological and emotional support. Hence, the project will include several divisions: the rehabilitation and renovation of the center, developing a comprehensive plan for their daily routine with extra-curricular activities and psychotherapy, and providing vocational education to empower them for a brighter future. With the accumulation of crises in Lebanon, which led to the collapse of public education in the last years, we found ourselves forced to move these girls to private schools to complete their education process, which added to us an additional burden, which in addition to the regular expenses mentioned above, imposes on us a schooling fees ranging from 2,500 to 3,500 US dollars per year for each girl. Through your donations to PEAKS WELLNESS, you help sustain the provision of services and increase the capacity to accommodate more humanitarian cases. Thanks for your generous support!

Help a Queer Couple Launch Their Catering Business
Hello, my name is Ali. I want to share a personal story. Recently, I faced a life-threatening situation when my father discovered my sexuality and pointed a rifle at me in a fit of rage. My mother’s attempts to intervene were half-hearted, leaving me trapped in my own bedroom. Eventually, she called him away, giving me a chance to escape. I left my home with nothing, relying on borrowed money from friends to secure a small rented room. In the midst of this hardship, something incredible happened—I met Moataz. He, too, had fled from a similar situation at home in Syria, and together, we found solace in each other. We bonded over our shared experiences and a mutual love for cooking. From this bond, an idea was born: Lunch Box. Lunch Box is more than just a catering business—it’s a symbol of our resilience and a step toward reclaiming our lives. We aim to share delicious, home-cooked meals with our community, prepared in our own kitchen. Operating as an openly LGBTQ-run business in a challenging environment, we aim to stand proud and create a space where we—and others like us—can thrive. But we can’t do this alone. We need your support to turn this dream into reality. Your donations will help us secure a safe home, purchase the necessary kitchen equipment, and cover our living expenses as we establish Lunch Box. By supporting us, you’re not just contributing to the start of a business—you’re helping us build a foundation for a brighter, safer future for ourselves and the LGBTQ community in a place where being ourselves is an act of courage. Please consider donating to help us build a brighter, safer future. Thank you for your support.
