"It is in the Armenian character to learn, to explore, to ask questions, to discover, and to preserve." — William Saroyan
There are dreams that are measured not by distance, but by depth. Mine began with a question that has stayed with me for years: Why is it that we Armenians, despite possessing immense intellectual potential and thousands of years of history, still face a shortage of internationally qualified professionals in almost every field? Why must those of us who aspire to contribute something meaningful to the world first leave our homeland to study before we can return and truly serve it?
This question led me on a journey that begins in Armenia but does not end here. It leads to one of the world's most prestigious universities, where I have chosen to build my future with the purpose of returning home and giving back everything I have gained. William Saroyan's words have become my guiding principle: learning, asking questions, and making discoveries are not only part of our national character but also a responsibility that I have chosen to embrace.
ABOUT ME
Growing up in Armenia, I was raised in a country with a rich history, a strong national identity, and a global Armenian community. From an early age, I understood that education and service to one's homeland could play a vital role in Armenia's development and in strengthening its position on the international stage.
My educational journey has always been guided by diligence, responsibility, and a passion for knowledge. I graduated from high school with excellent academic results and continued my studies at the European College of Armenia, specializing in Accounting and Auditing, once again graduating with distinction. I also successfully completed the business education program at the International Chelsea Business School.
Throughout my studies, I participated in internships and volunteer programs with various organizations, gaining valuable practical experience. A year ago, I embarked on a new chapter by beginning my studies in International Economics at Fudan University, where future economists, leaders, researchers, and innovators are educated. There, I have been studying international trade, investment policy, finance, corporate debt reduction and equity financing mechanisms, global markets, and economic diplomacy, among many other critical areas of modern economics.
These experiences have convinced me that personal development is inseparable from the development of one's country. My goal is to combine the world-class education, practical experience, and global perspective I acquire at Fudan University and use them to contribute to Armenia's economic development, attract foreign investment, expand international business cooperation, and strengthen the country's competitiveness.
Despite this remarkable opportunity, studying abroad presents a significant financial challenge for my family. Only with your support can I continue my education and turn this exceptional opportunity into reality. Education is a powerful tool that enables every individual to serve their community and homeland. As a young Armenian studying in an international academic environment, I firmly believe it is my responsibility to bring back the knowledge, experience, and dedication I gain and place them at the service of Armenia.
THE ROAD TOWARD INTERNATIONAL ECONOMICS
Armenia certainly offers opportunities to receive a quality education in economics. However, the reality is that our country still faces a shortage of professionals with international experience and qualifications, particularly in fields that require a global economic perspective, deep understanding of international markets, and strong connections with foreign institutions. Without such professionals, it is difficult to fully integrate into the global economy and compete internationally.
This reality motivated me to seek an education at a university that would provide not only rigorous academic knowledge but also genuine international exposure. My choice was Fudan University in China, one of the leading universities in Asia and the world in the field of economics.
Studying at Fudan offers access to an academic environment that combines high academic standards, outstanding research opportunities, and close ties with one of the world's fastest-growing economies—a country that plays a central role in shaping today's global economic landscape.
Choosing Fudan was not accidental. China has become one of the world's most dynamic economic powers, and studying there allows me to explore economic models and development strategies that remain relatively underexplored in our region. It also provides an invaluable opportunity to build international relationships that will benefit both my professional future and my country.
MY LONG-TERM GOALS
After graduation, my ambitions extend far beyond personal success. I aspire to become a bridge between Armenia and the international economic community by strengthening bilateral partnerships, attracting investment opportunities, and promoting the exchange of knowledge and expertise.
I believe that the international experience and professional network I develop will enable me to contribute to stronger economic and business relations between Armenia and other countries.
I envision a future where young Armenians can integrate more easily into international economic platforms, and I want to be among those who help make that possible—whether through sharing knowledge, mentoring others, or fostering business and diplomatic partnerships. I firmly believe that expanding trade and investment ties between countries can create new opportunities for Armenia's economy.
In the long term, I see myself as an international economics professional working on global projects while contributing to the economic development of my homeland. This vision is what motivates me every day, and it is precisely for achieving this goal that I seek your support.
Every donation brings me one step closer to my dream and becomes part of a much greater story—the story of building bridges between Armenia and the world.
HOW CAN YOU SUPPORT ME
The annual tuition fee for the program is approximately $11,820, accommodation in the university dormitory costs approximately $4,468 per year, and additional university-related expenses amount to approximately $3,300 annually.
I paid my first year's tuition with the generous support of my relatives. Through this fundraising campaign, I hope to cover the expenses for the remaining three years of my studies.
