My name is Ahmed Raja Shabat. I am 23 years old, and this is not just my story it is a story of loss, survival, and hope.
When the war came, it didn’t just destroy buildings it destroyed lives. Our home, the only place we felt safe, was completely demolished. In a single devastating moment, I lost my father. He was not just a parent, but the pillar of our family the one who protected us, guided us, and gave us strength.
As if that pain wasn’t enough, I also lost my brother. He left behind two young children who now grow up without their father, just as I must live without mine.
Today, I carry a responsibility far beyond my years. I am now the only support for my mother, my sister, and my late brother’s children. Every day is a struggle not just financially, but emotionally. We are trying to survive in a reality filled with grief, uncertainty, and hardship.
We have lost our home, our security, and our sense of normal life. But we have not lost hope.
