My name is Deise. I’m a single mom and a breast cancer survivor — and today, I’m fighting a new battle: the fight to save the only home my son and I have.

Eight years ago, cancer took everything from me: my health, my job, and all my savings. While I struggled to survive, medical costs and unpaid condominium fees kept growing. Now our small apartment — our only place of safety — has been taken to public auction.
