My name is Lahiru, and I am a 24-year-old from Sri Lanka. I lost my parents at a young age and was raised by my loving grandparents. Today, I am reaching out for a lifeline to continue my education and save my family.
​I recently completed my Diploma in Information Technology at ESOFT Metro Campus. My dream is to pursue my Bachelor's Degree (BSc Hons), which will open doors for a stable IT career and allow me to lift my family out of poverty. However, the total cost for the degree is nearly $3,000—an amount that is completely out of my reach.
​Currently, my elderly grandmother, who used to do daily wage labor to feed us, has been diagnosed with breast cancer. Now, I work as a daily laborer myself to afford her medications and basic food for the house. Balancing manual labor and trying to save for my future has become impossible.
