Eslam is 30 years old, and married with children. Sadly, she is separated from her family and resides in Egypt.

Eslam has been through a harrowing journey over the past year. Whilst transporting bread home for her children in the Gaza Strip, a violent IOF bombardment went off, destroying the vehicle she was in and causing grievous wounds to her body, exposing muscle and bone in her right thigh.
At the time of writing this, there are no fully functional hospitals in Gaza. Most hospitals have been severely damaged, if not completely destroyed by the occupation. To this end, Eslam has had to seek emergency treatment abroad in Egypt.

The medical costs she has incurred so far exceed her ability to afford them. Palestinian refugees are not permitted to work in Egypt, and are largely left to their own devices when it comes to making ends meet.

Eslam’s ongoing treatment requires routine testing, wound care and maintenance, many medications, and there is a very high chance that multiple surgeries will be required for her to be able to regain full use of her leg again. She is also responsible for rental costs where she is staying, and needs help affording daily necessities like food and water.

Eslam is alone in Egypt, separated from her family, but she dreams of making a full recovery and raising enough funds to welcome her husband and five children to Egypt to begin a new life, together in safety.
