Nine years ago, I bought a home in Bchmoun Escape, Lebanon. I invested almost $90,000 of my savings into that house, believing I was securing a safe and stable future for my children.
Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond my control, a political party took over my home, and I received nothing in return. When i go to check it, i’d meet up people with guns telling me to leave. I have spent years trying to recover the money I lost, but as many of us know, getting justice and recovering property in Lebanon can be incredibly difficult.
Since then, I have been renting homes and trying my best to provide for my family. I work, I support my children, and I am willing to continue working and paying monthly installments. But after everything I lost, I simply cannot manage the down payment needed to buy a home again.
Today, I am asking for something very simple: help me give my two children a home they can call their own.
I am not asking anyone to carry the cost of a house for me. I am asking for a helping hand with the initial down payment so that I can take it from there. I can work and manage the monthly payments -I just need help getting started.
Every contribution, no matter how small, brings us one step closer to having a permanent home and a place where my children can feel safe and know they have a future.
