I am a 21-year-old young man. My father suffered a stroke when I was 11 years old, and he remained bedridden for nine years. Sadly, he passed away in 2024. I have no brothers or sisters. I have been working since I was 17 years old. No matter how many dreams I have had, I have not been able to achieve them because of the difficulties at home. I have to take care of my mother.
Some days, we do not even have proper meals. Life has been very difficult. The only valuable thing my father left us is the house we live in. Even that is damaged, as monkeys have broken parts of the roof. We used to cook in a small makeshift kitchen, but it has now deteriorated and collapsed.
While my father was still healthy, he managed to build a small part of the kitchen with the little money we had, but we could not afford to finish it, and then he became ill. Rebuilding the roof and the kitchen would cost a large amount of money. Even if I worked for many years, I would not be able to save that much because I have to take care of everything at home and support my mother. I cannot let her suffer. I do not even have enough money to buy proper clothes or anything I personally wish for.
If my mother suddenly becomes sick, I do not even have a vehicle to take her to the hospital. As a young man, I often feel helpless. While others my age are enjoying their lives, I have been struggling since I was 17, carrying many dreams in my heart.
I will share photos to show the current condition of our home. If anyone is able and willing to help, I would be deeply grateful. Relatives used to help us a little when my father was alive, but now even that support is gone. Constant worry has left me mentally exhausted.
At present, I work on a 14-story building. I am afraid of heights, but whenever I think about the problems my family faces, I push those fears aside and continue working. Sometimes, I break down in tears. Thinking about my family, I even tried to find opportunities to go abroad, but I have nothing to mortgage or use to make that possible.
