My name is Huynh Thanh Nhut, and I am from Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
I never imagined that my life would change so drastically.
Before the COVID-19 pandemic, I invested everything I had to start an agricultural import and export business. I believed it would give my family a better future. However, in 2021, Vietnam went into a long lockdown. My crops were damaged, my business stopped operating, and I still had to pay rent and employee salaries. I lost everything and my company eventually collapsed.
After the pandemic, I refused to give up. I started a small coffee shop, hoping to rebuild my life. Unfortunately, the business also failed and I lost the little money I had left.
Then my wife was diagnosed with Stage IV breast cancer.
Watching the person I love fight cancer while our family was struggling financially was the hardest time of my life.
In my desperation, I made some very poor financial decisions because I wanted to solve our problems quickly. I deeply regret those mistakes. I have stopped, accepted responsibility for them, and now I am determined to rebuild my life honestly through work.
Today, I am working again, but my income is not enough to cover our basic living expenses, my wife's ongoing medical treatment, and the debts that built up during these difficult years.
I am not asking anyone to solve all of my problems. I only hope for a chance to keep my family going while I continue working hard to rebuild our future.
I can provide business registration documents, medical records, and other supporting documents to verify every part of my story.
