My name is Maleesha Deshan, 20 years old. I live in a small village in Kadigamuwa in Sri Lanka, where I have been working hard to support my family. For a long time I have wanted to start a small business making coconut husk chips to create a better life for us.

Currently I do all the work by hand but it is extremely difficult, slow, and not enough to make a steady living. Every day I spend several hours manually cutting and processing coconut husks. Without a machine, I can only process around 300 coconut husks per day. Because the work is done entirely by hand, my production is very limited and my income is not enough to support my family.

My goal is to buy a small husk chipping machine. This machine costs about $1000 / Rs. 336,999. With this machine I can process nearly 1500 coconut husks per day. It would not only make my work easier and save a lot of time, but would also help me produce high quality chips that I can sell to support my family. I am a hardworking person and I am ready to put in all the effort needed to make this business successful.
