At the end of 2023, I connected with a Palestinian man through a photojournalist I follow on IG. When the genocide following October 7 started, he depleted his savings to get his wife and three children out of Gaza. The Subeih family has been separated for the past several months.

I have started this fundraiser for two reasons: first, to ensure that the children and their mother are able to provide for themselves. They are currently at risk of eviction, and have few resources at their disposal in Egypt. The funds will primarily cover essential expenses such as rent, utilities, groceries, and medical care for the family.

The second goal behind this fundraiser is to facilitate the father's safe passage out of Gaza when the Rafah border opens up again.
