My name is Soyang Honorine, and I come from the North West Region of Cameroon. My family and I were deeply affected by the Anglophone crisis that began in 2016, which turned our once peaceful life into a nightmare.
During the conflict, our house was burned to the ground, my brother was killed, and my sister was raped and tragically lost her life. We had no choice but to flee to Nigeria, living as refugees in extremely difficult conditions with little food, shelter, or hope.
Despite these hardships, I have never given up on my dreams. I am thrilled to share that I have been admitted to Dalhousie University to continue my education, a step that will help me rebuild my life and create a brighter future for my family.
