My best friend in Lebanon, who is one of the strongest people I know, has had to quit her job due to multiple reasons: very toxic work environment that led to health issues, in addition to lesser wages due to the regional war that started a month ago. Marianne is now focusing on recovering and the good news is that she's already improving. However, the cost of rent, food, bills, medications, and generator fuel all pile up, and without income it has made daily life a constant struggle. Furthermore, the cost of living has risen even more because of the war and it has been more difficult than ever before to make ends meet.

I myself have been trying to help as much as I could, but my income has also been negatively impacted by the ongoing conflict. This is why I am asking for help from anyone who can spare anything.

Our goal of $1,500 over the next 15 days is to cover rent, utilities, basic costs of living, and keep a small amount for leeway for any sudden or emergency expenses, since life in Lebanon is really unpredictable and there is no telling what will happen to us at this point in time.
