A Humble Request from a Sri Lankan Family Woman Facing a Life of Struggle.
My name is Nilanthi pradeepa Rathnayake, and I am a 34-year-old woman from Sri Lanka. I write this with a humble heart, hoping that a kind soul will hear my plea during a very difficult time in my life.
I live with my husband, two younger siblings, my elderly husbands’ mother and father, and my mother. Each one of them depends on me, and I do everything I can to take care of them — but the challenges are overwhelming, and I am now at a point where I cannot carry this burden alone.
My husbands’ mother, who is 73 years old, is suffering from multiple serious health conditions, She requires regular treatment and medical checkups. And the father, who is 74, is also receiving ongoing medical care. including a blood clot in her brain and the fact that she has only one functioning kidney.
My mother is undergoing treatment for brain-related health issues as well, and my self is being treated for thyroid problems. I am the only person who can take them to the hospital, which is about 50 kilometers from our home. We live in a rural area, and the only way to travel is by public bus — a difficult and sometimes dangerous journey, especially in the early morning hours, even passing through areas known to have elephant crossings I have only old motor bike.
We do not have a vehicle of our own, and I cannot afford to buy one. The cost of travel, medical treatment, and daily living has become too much to bear. I also want to support my younger siblings in their education so they can have a better future, but I am unable to do so with my current financial situation.
I am an honest woman who has always worked hard to take care of his family. But today, I am reaching out to the world with great humility, hoping someone with a generous heart will consider helping us. I am not asking for luxury — only for basic support: help with transportation, financial assistance for medical treatment, and support for my siblings’ education.
If anyone out there can help us in any way, I would be forever grateful. Your kindness could bring light to our lives in this time of deep struggle. Thank you for taking the time to read my story.
