For nearly three decades, Sister Anselmina Karimi devoted her life to serving Kenya’s most vulnerable — orphans, abandoned children, and persons with disabilities at the Meru Children’s Home. She was a humble nun of the Nazareth Sisters of the Annunciation, a mother to the forgotten, and a symbol of compassion and integrity. Through her selfless work, hundreds of children found hope, love, and purpose.
Yet, on 12th October 2025, Sister Anselmina’s life was cut short in circumstances that shocked an entire community. Her body was discovered with visible injuries, blood seeping from her mouth and ears — clear signs of violence. Her home appeared cleaned, her phone went missing, and those who should have sought justice have instead chosen silence.
A fellow nun was briefly arrested and released without explanation. The Catholic Diocese of Meru, instead of joining the family and community in the pursuit of truth, has attempted to rush through a burial — without the family’s participation, without transparency, and before completion of crucial investigations. This move risks destroying vital forensic evidence and permanently burying the truth of what happened to Sister Anselmina.
Today, we — the family, beneficiaries, and community she served — are fighting for justice. But the road to justice in Kenya is long, costly, and often intimidating. We are appealing to friends, well-wishers, and people of goodwill to stand with us by contributing toward legal fees, forensic experts, and court representation necessary to uncover the truth and hold all those responsible accountable.
Your support will go directly toward:
1. Engaging legal counsel to represent the family
2. Filing and pursuing legal proceedings to ensure that investigations are completed transparently.
3. Covering administrative and documentation costs involved in sustaining the case in court.
4. Providing safety and logistical support for witnesses and family members actively pursuing justice.
We believe that Sister Anselmina’s death cannot be treated as just another statistic. Her life was a testimony of love and faith; her death demands truth and accountability. The Constitution of Kenya guarantees the right to life and human dignity — values Sister Anselmina lived by every single day.
We therefore call upon all compassionate Kenyans, the faithful, and global friends of justice:
💔 Stand with us.
⚖️ Help us ensure that no one silences the truth.
🕊️ Help us keep alive the legacy of a woman who gave everything to protect others.
Every contribution — no matter how small — is a voice for justice. Together, we can ensure that justice for Sister Anselmina becomes justice for every vulnerable child she cared for.
