Dear Friends, Supporters, and Global Community,
For years, I have dedicated my professional life to supporting international humanitarian and development operations on the ground here in Yemen. As a professional driver and operator, my job was always more than just a career—it was my way of contributing to vital regional efforts while proudly providing a stable, dignified life for my family.
Above all else, my greatest pride and responsibility is being a father to my three wonderful children (my 16-year-old daughter, my 15-year-old son, and my 7-year-old son). Like any parent living through a regional crisis, my absolute priority has always been ensuring they receive a quality education, shielding them from the instability around us, and giving them the tools to build a bright future.
Recently, our lives were turned upside down. Due to sudden, major structural reorganizations within the region, my long-term post with UNICEF was officially abolished. Overnight, our family lost its sole source of income in an environment where securing immediate, matching professional roles is incredibly difficult.
Because of this sudden transition, we are now facing an immediate financial domino effect that threatens our housing stability and, most painfully, my children’s education:
1. Clearing Past Educational Debt ($3,100): To keep my children enrolled last academic year, I took out a personal loan through the United Nations Federal Credit Union (UNFCU). With my sudden job loss, I am left with a remaining balance of $3,100 in monthly installments that I can no longer pay, creating an urgent burden on our household.
2. Securing the Upcoming School Year ($6,000 - $7,000): The new academic year is fast approaching. The cost of tuition, registration, and school fees to enroll all three of my children comes out to approximately $6,000 to $7,000. Without these funds, their education will be abruptly interrupted.
To give you complete confidence in where your generosity is going, I have provided the platform’s compliance team with full documentation—including my official UNICEF termination/abolishment notice, my remaining UNFCU loan statement balance, and the school’s tuition fee structures.
I am hitting two birds with one stone with this campaign: clearing the debt of the past year and securing the bridge to my children's immediate future. Every single dollar raised will go directly toward settling the UNFCU loan and paying the school administration directly to keep my kids in the classroom.
While I actively look for my next driving and professional role to get my family back on its feet, I am humbly asking for your hands in solidarity. No donation is too small, and simply sharing my story with your network means the world to us.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for standing with my family, protecting my children's education, and helping us navigate this unexpected crossroad.
With deep gratitude,
Zaki Almohammadi.
