My name is Ahmad, and I am a digital freelancer from Lebanon who relies entirely on the internet to survive and earn an income online. Not long ago, I had a stable life, a safe home, and a clear vision for my future. In a heartbeat, the devastating reality of war took all of that away, completely destroying the life and the dreams I had spent years working so hard to build.
​The main photo on this campaign page shows the literal ruins of my independent livelihood: my completely destroyed computer setup and workspace. I managed to quickly take this heartbreaking photograph during the brief ceasefire a month ago, just to capture the physical loss of the tools that connected me to the world. Today, due to the ongoing volatility and displacement, I am blocked from returning. I am forced to live with the agonizing reality that I do not even know if the house itself is still standing anymore.
​Losing a home is not just about losing four walls; it is about losing your sanctuary, your mental peace, and your sense of safety. The war has uprooted my life, scattered my focus, and tried to force me into paths and choices that compromise my well-being and my future.
​But while the crisis took everything physical from me, I refuse to let it destroy my drive, my skills, or my right to a peaceful life.
​I am determined to stand my ground and rebuild my digital workflow right here from scratch. Because my career is entirely online, securing a basic mobile workstation is my only ticket to regaining financial independence, earning a living, and ultimately transitioning out of this crisis into a safe, stable environment where I can finally breathe and thrive again.
