I am a father from Sri Lanka, and I have a 3.5-year-old child.
As you can see from the photos, our home is now in a very dangerous condition. The walls were badly cracked, and I had to break the most unsafe parts to protect my child.
I was afraid every day that something might collapse and hurt my child.
For the past 8 months, we have not been able to live in our own home. We are currently staying at my father-in-law’s house because we have no safe place to stay.
I am not trying to rebuild a full house. My only goal is to build a small, safe living space where my child can live without fear.
Some materials from the damaged house can still be reused, and I am trying to reduce costs as much as possible. I am not hiring a contractor. Instead, I plan to complete this work with the help of daily-paid workers (labour) to keep expenses low.
Due to material and basic labour costs, I am hoping to raise:
USD 3,500
This amount will be used only for essential construction (cement, sand, bricks, and labour) to build a safe structure.
I will share updates and progress photos as the work continues.
