Hi, my name is Jack I'm a 40 years old man who's life faced an almost fatal turn in November 2020.
For all what I remember, it was corona time and we were all on lockdown, out of nowhere and after 3-4 days of experiencing short blackouts and delusions on Saturday 28-11-2020 around 6:30 am I found myself on the ledge of my 3rd floor balcony, so I immediately stepped down and started praying but once I opened my eyes I found myself again on the ledge, I stepped down again and kneeled and prayed for a good time only to when I opened my eyes to find myself again for the tird time on the ledge. I couldn't see or feel myself stepping on it, it was as if I'm trapped in a loop, so I looked up the sky as the sun was rising and loudly asked God "what is happening? Is that my final moment?", and once I asked suddenly all the fear vanished and I felt an unprecedented calmness and a sense of safety like never before followed by a warm male tender voice saying "I'm here for you". So facing my apartment across the street there was the church of St. Jean, so I spoke my final words which were "ok God I trust in you, and as far as I'm aware my heart is pure and my mind is clear, I wish if my sould can be taken care of.. if that's my cross, let it be and St. Jean is my witness", I turned and with full faith I took the leap, free falling backwards from about 17 meters, and while midair I heard the same warm tender voice saying "you won't die my son".
Once I hit the ground it was pitch black and for the next 14 days I wasn't in this world, during these 14 days my body experienced 3 separate clinical death and everytime just as the nurses were about to declare the time of my death and ring my family to tell them my heart came back to life.
On the 14th day, I remember that I felt the presence of our mother Mary, and I asked if I can come back or that's it?, and the most feminine gentle voice ever to hear said "open your eyes son and have no worries", and just like that I opened my eyes to find myself hooked to several machines, intubated and with 2 IV drops attached, broken pelvis, broken spine, broken right elbow and punctured right lung, yet everything made sense somehow, there was no panic whatsoever since that "open your eyes and have worries" kept me calm. I looked left and right and there was no one else in the room.
Few seconds in and the nurse noticed me on her screen, she rushed to my ICU unit and the first thing she said was "how? Oh my God you finally came back, can you hear me?".
Overall I stayed in the hospital for 4 months, went under 4 critical surgeries, whatever savings we had was gone, family and friends helped tremendously but I had to leave the hospital due to fact that there was no money left, and on top of that after the last surgery just 4 days before leaving my wife asked for divorce (I believe here family convinced her that I'll never walk again based on the medical report estimation).
After leaving the hospital I stayed 2 years bedridden, my mother worked hard to get support from Caritas and the Red Cross org. which they helped a little by covering some medications and a very small financial support for just 6 months (it was 450,000). I can never repay my mother for taking care of me, or the family members and friends that helped, and I'll forever be grateful for the physiotherapist for being so generous and charging very low fee every house visit, after 2 years we managed to stand up, and after that it was all on me, in 4-5 months I was capable to walk again without the walker or crutches. On the 6th month I slipped and broke my right femur which placed me in bed for 2 months with physiotherapy, followed by 3 months recovering by my own.
The above are the highlights of 3 years as there was many other challenges that arose during that time and endless minor details to the whole story.
I'm aware how fortunate it is to be alive and to experience all that, grateful as always for the blessings I received along the way and especially by the grace of God the patience and mental stability after my life turned 180 degrees and for enduring pain on all levels which I believe that I had to go through.
So, Once my femur recovered, I started working but it was limited due to chronic pain, quick fatigue, malfunctioning bladder and having no car (it happened that I sold my car few months before the incident thinking of renewing once the lockdown was over). Since then every summer I work part time, 1 or 2 days in the weekends, with a catering company as a live cooking chef. I tried to apply for full time jobs many times but once they know I have chronic pain and can't lift and can't walk fast my application gets ignored or refused.
Today I'm way better than how it was, physically at least. I still incapable to run (physical PTSD), my bladder still not working (it leaks involuntarily and I must push to pee) and my financials are below zero, thankfully my parents' apartment is owned and not rental, my brother - may God always be with him - was and still taking care of the house expenses (food and bills) but it's taking a toll on him and his own life (he can't progress). From my end whenever I make a peny I give it to the house trying to help but it's almost nothing.
I'm honestly and genuinely submitting this application after lots of thinking and lots of calculations and the amount is mainly for 2 reasons, 1- is to get a cheap car (2000$ maximum) so to ease my transportations, 2- to continue my physiotherapy in a clinic and hopefully my bladder will work once again as I gain more balance & control over my body. It feels like this is my ladt resort as all my resources are exhausted and for the last 2 years I have not found someone to loan me this small amount. The thing is, based on physiotherapist expertise I have reached the maximum recovery without using machines and he believes that 3-4 months of continuous intense physio my chronic pains will be drastically reduced, my movement ability will be highly improved and there's a good chance my bladder starts working once again.
What I'm willing to do with this 5000 $ is the following:
1- buy a car for not more than 2000 $.
2- pay upfront to at least 75 physio sessions (last I checked it was 40$ per session which sums up to 3000$).
During these 3 months or afterwards, depending on what the physiotherapist adivse, I'll be looking for a full time job as I'm willing to repay this fund.
I fully aware that there's more complicated stories than mine or less fortunate and that's why if by any chance I do get the fund I'm willing to give it back since I know that I can do way more than what I'm capable at the moment but I've reached a somewhat of a wall and honestly frustration and depression are creeping on me.
Note: If more details or evidence are needed I'm willing to share.
Lastly, I was fortunate to experience a hard reset in life on all levels , spiritually, physically, mentally, socially and financially and with the divine intervention I've made it so far, all I'm hoping for is that final financial small push to finish the recovery so to be more productive, make it easier on my brother and helping my mother and hopefully start living fully again.
Thank you for giving time and reading my story and may God bless you.
