My mother is fighting a painful battle with diabetes. What started as a long-term illness has now turned into a serious complication. One of her legs has already been badly affected, and she is struggling to walk.
Now the infection and damage are spreading to her other leg as well. Doctors have clearly warned us that without immediate treatment, she may lose her second leg too.
She is currently being treated / evaluated at Central Park Teaching Hospital, where doctors are trying their best to control the condition and save her leg.
Watching her suffer every day is heartbreaking for our family. We want to save her, but we cannot afford the expensive treatment and ongoing medical care.
