The Day Care Centers in Gadime and Gracanica, once promising hybrid models that combined social services with sustainability, are no longer operational. These centers played a vital role by providing safe, development-focused environments for Roma children aged 3–5, who are too often excluded from institutional preschool education.

For many of these children, the centers were not only places of learning but also places of belonging, offering early education, play, and care that helped prepare them for school and gave parents peace of mind. With their closure, dozens of children are left without access to this critical support, widening the gap in equality and opportunity.
