150 orphans have already suffered the heartbreak of losing their parents, and people who were supposed to protect them, and have no relative able to take them in. Some were left vulnerable to the streets, where poverty quickly become hunger, exploitation, child labor, abuse, child marriage and an entire childhood spent surviving instead of learning.
Thanks to past generosity, they found safety and care at ECRF orphanage. Here, they have basic necessity of life: food packs, stationery, school fees, school uniform, hygiene pack, physical examination, blankets, dental examination, linen, mosquito nets, festival clothing, and the stability of knowing they have somewhere to return to tomorrow.
We were able to bring them into a safe environment, feed them and enroll them in school. However, the funding that sustained this care is no longer forthcoming, putting all their progress at risk.
But today, the vital aid they rely on has abruptly stopped leaving their future hanging in the balance.
The help that comes to these orphaned children arrives too late. They cannot pause their need for food, medicine or shelter while they wait for resources. Because previous funding streams have dried up, we need immediate support to ensure their daily care isn’t interrupted.
We successfully provided a haven for these vulnerable children, but the regular financial assistance has ceased. Without immediate intervention, we will struggle to meet basic needs like daily meals, clean water and schooling.
Thanks to initial support, these children were transitioning out of trauma, receiving regular nutrition, and experiencing the stability of a family-like environment.
With aid no longer coming through we face a critical deficit. We must raise funds immediately to keep our doors open and prevent these children from being pushed back to hardship.
