Lebanon endures yet another round of zio-american terror.
If you're following the news, you already know that Israel's genocidal war against Lebanon continues, completing its first month already.
The displacement crisis is growing with every ethnic cleansing order under threat issued by israel, exerting increasing pressures on an already disintegrating infrastructure.
Over the past month, the settler colony of israel ordered the forced displacement of residents of massive regions of the country - the entirety of the south of the Litani river (130 towns), the entirety of the densely populated southern suburb of Beirut, the tens of towns in the Zahrani- southern lebanon, and most recently the town KfarHatta in Sidon - packed with thousands of already displaced families - explicit expulsion orders under threat of annihilation.
A crisis of unprecedented internal displacement is unfolding with over a million people - thousands of families now sheltering in overcrowded schools, temporary shelters, cars, and public spaces, with very limited access to basic necessities - exerting increasing pressures on an already disintegrating infrastructure.
Many remain in tents on the capital's sidewalks.
Many have even opted to go back to their homes despite the risk.
With the ever so slow and inadequate governmental action, community networks across the country have been mobilizing to support families with food, shelter, medicine, and essential supplies. I am helping raise funds to support some of these networks currently assisting displaced families on the ground, namely my friend Fatima who continues to tend to families with basic supplies in coordination with friends in Saida who had worked with over 2000 families in the 2024 war; and who is supporting 800 people sheltering in the Capuchin school in Hamra; "Egna Legna", a migrant-led group offering support for migrant domestic workers facing both displacement and racial discrimination; a group of 8 friends who recently started assembling hygiene kits to families currently living in tents at Ramlet El Bayda and Biel; and groups rescuing and feeding stray animals and pets in targeted areas; as well as individuals serving as bridges between displaced families and initiatives supplying essentials.
The need is dire, and without these initiatives, people are left to fend for themselves. The raised funds will be transferred directly to these entities/individuals.
If you are able to contribute, any support big or small can make a difference.
