For nearly a decade, the English‑speaking regions of Cameroon have endured a devastating armed conflict. In the midst of this violence, countless innocent civilians have suffered unimaginable losses. With me being one of the victims, a young woman whose life was shattered both literally and figuratively on April 7, 2018.

On that day, in Batoh_Numba (Upper Banyang Sub‑Division, Manyu Division), I was caught in the cross‑fire and shot multiple times, with bullets violently destroying my face and injuring several parts of my body. My survival was nothing short of miraculous. Yet survival was only the beginning of a long, painful journey.

My Fight to Reclaim my Life
Since the attack, I have undergone a series of complex surgeries in Cameroon and abroad each one aimed at restoring basic functions and stabilizing my condition. Despite the progress made, my medical team has confirmed that i still requires seven major reconstructive surgeries to fully repair the extensive damage to my face and regain my physical and emotional wholeness.

These final procedures must be performed in the United States, with an estimated cost of $65,000. Unfortunately, my family can no longer fund my medical needs.
