On the 5th of December, my life changed in a way I never expected. During the heavy rains and sudden mini-tornado-like winds, the soil around my home began to erode dangerously. I rushed outside to save my kitchen area and drainage hole from collapsing. In that moment of urgency, I slipped on the wet ground and fell nearly 30 feet down a small cliff, landing directly inside the drainage hole. The impact was terrifying, and before I could even gather my breath, something far worse happened—I was bitten by a Russell’s Viper, one of the deadliest snakes in Sri Lanka.

Lying injured and venomized inside that dark hole, I truly believed it was the end of my life. My family and neighbours managed to pull me out and rushed me to the Matale Hospital, where doctors acted quickly to save me. They administered what little anti-venom was available, and for the next several days, my life hung between hope and fear. The venom caused severe internal damage, and complications developed soon after the anti-venom was given.

I remained hospitalized for 12 days, battling extreme pain, swelling, dizziness, breathing difficulties, and the constant risk of organ failure. The doctors did everything they could with the limited resources they had. By God’s grace, prayers, and the dedication of the medical team, I survived—but the effects of the venom are still inside my body, and I am not out of danger yet.

Even after being discharged, I continue to struggle with serious health issues. Doctors have recommended several essential tests to assess the damage caused by both the fall and the venom:

MRI Scan

CT Scan

Liver Scan

Liver Profile Tests

Nerve and Muscle Assessments

These tests are critical for my recovery, but I am unable to afford them due to my current financial situation.

The most urgent issue is the lack of proper anti-venom in Sri Lanka. To protect myself from possible complications or future risks, I have been advised to import Russell’s Viper anti-venom, which is extremely expensive but lifesaving.

Today, with humility and a heart full of hope, I am seeking assistance to complete my medical tests and secure the necessary anti-venom. Your help, no matter how small, could truly save my life and give me the chance to recover fully.
