Reading this you think it unusual, but for so many of our team it’s common place.

I come from a culture where we are pushed to be out of the house at 18 years old. My parents worked until they were late 60’s. Their independence from the kids was something they yearned for as much as us kids wanted to be free.

In Morocco and amongst our team it’s not the case. Almost all of our young men whether living at home or not are financially supporting their parents.

Many have elderly parents and some are even supporting their sick parents.

Why am I sharing this? Because it’s our team that that show up everyday to support MAA on the ground and no matter how hard we have tried supporting them by paying wages on time has been something we have struggled with.

Rightly so they tell us they need their wage or they can’t work.

We want to pay them, we save a little bit every day but at the end of each month it’s never enough to pay in substantial amounts.

We come to you in the hope you can understand the delicacy of the situation.

We are not raising money for the animals in our care but for the hands that care for them.

It’s a moving part of the MAA wheel. In fact, its the only way the wheel is moved.

Our team are tired of waiting and we are ashamed to keep delaying.

We urgently ask for you help so that we can cover a month of wages for each of our workers.
