Indonesia is one of the major countries in Southeast Asia, which has two sides of the same coin. On one side, the government always portrays the country to the world as successful, prosperous, and rich in natural resources. However, on the other side, this claim is very different from reality, where the people within the country live in social and economic inequality that continues year after year.
The main failure does not lie in what the country possesses in terms of natural resources and other potential wealth within it. Rather, it lies in the morally deviant behavior of almost all individuals who hold positions in the government in implementing policies across all sectors related to law, society, and education. This is the fundamental issue behind the apparent imbalance in the world, which becomes very clear within the country itself (the balance between the government's claim that Indonesia's socio-economic situation and education are improving and the reality of high unemployment and significant economic inequality).
From the general overview of the reality above, I feel compelled to start something that can truly become one of the tools for improvement in that condition in the future, using methods and concepts that may be almost the same as those that have been done or might currently be carried out by some other individuals, both in my own country and in other parts of the world.
However, with this, it is hoped that there will be more and more individuals and other independent organizations who also take part and take real actions to foster a sense of care for the current conditions and those of the past. For one thing, for a better future. For this country, as well as for the world itself globally.
Lebak Regency in Banten Province, Indonesia, is one of the regions that has a favorable geographical location with potential for both beach and mountain tourism, mineral and non-mineral resources, and it is also becoming a new area of industrialization. However, in reality, the community still has a very low standard of living. This is due to the most fundamental factor, namely education, both basic education according to the state system and education based on local social culture.
So, for the first stage, I will create an open school for basic skills that is free, intended for children or teenagers (ages 10 to 16) from all walks of life, regardless of ethnicity, religion, or economic status in their social standing.
The basic skills education will only be divided into three aspects as follows:
1. Literacy in basic skills regarding culture, law, and politics in Indonesia.
2. Literacy in international language skills (English) and one other foreign language. (A language from a non-English-speaking country, but with many companies from that country having business branches in Indonesia, such as China, Japan, Germany, Russia, France, and so on)
3. Literacy in basic technology skills (such as basic and intermediate computer operation, basic and intermediate programming, as well as basic and intermediate skills in operating or flying drones for various purposes).
For teaching staff, I collaborate with various parties and individuals among students as well as other individuals, both professional and non-professional, to become volunteer educators who have the competence and are relevant to the three aspects of education in the guidance at the open school.
In order to make this possible, I really need the support of every individual anywhere in the world to be able to realize it. The basic needs of the program are:
1. Financial needs to build simple school infrastructure and supporting teaching facilities such as desks and chairs, several computers or laptops, several drones, and others.
2. Financial needs for school operations (such as paying for electricity, Meals for volunteer teachers, internet, and so on).
All preparation processes up to the activities will be carried out in parallel and gradually, depending on the availability of funds. And I plan to start everything no later than the beginning on this month.
I hope that my desire and intention to do the aforementioned will receive attention and support from anyone around the world. Because I believe that everything that starts from small and simple things can change into something greater in the future. And I am confident that from a good desire and intention, it can be realized quickly with the support of other good people in this world.
Thank you.
