Dear Honourable People's
Sri Lanka is currently facing a severe humanitarian crisis due to extensive flooding caused by heavy seasonal rains. The affected regions have experienced overflowing rivers, submerged communities, major road blockages, and widespread damage to houses and agricultural land. As of now, thousands of families have been displaced, with many losing access to safe drinking water, medical care, and basic necessities.
The immediate needs identified in the affected areas include:
Food relief (rice, dhal, dry rations, infant formula)
Clean drinking water and water purification tablets
Hygiene kits (soap, sanitary items, disinfectants)
Temporary shelters, tarpaulins, and bedding
Medical assistance for injuries, infections, and waterborne diseases
Support for rebuilding homes and livelihoods
We are requesting funding to deliver urgent relief supplies and to support long-term recovery efforts. Your contribution will directly impact vulnerable families who are struggling to recover from this unexpected disaster.
