I am a Syrian man forced by harsh circumstances to leave my country and come to Iraq in search of a livelihood and a decent life for my family, after my home was completely destroyed in the 2023 earthquake, and I lost everything I owned in an instant.
I work here as a tower crane operator, which is my only source of income. But fate dealt me a cruel blow. A sudden power outage while I was working led to a serious accident. The load fell, damaging the crane and the building's roof, and innocent families were harmed. I was ordered to pay for the damages, an amount far beyond my means.
Today, I am in a truly dire situation. I am a simple man with no money or support, living far from my family, burdened by fear and helplessness. All I wish for is to pay these dues and escape this ordeal so I can return to my family after this long absence. Thank you.
