Mashala Shelter is a humble animal refuge located in Zefta, Nabatiyeh, a town in southern Lebanon. It’s home to around 200 stray and abandoned dogs and donkeys, all cared for by one man alone — Houssein Hamze.

Since 2006, Houssein has dedicated his life to saving animals no one else cares for. Every single day, he feeds, shelters, and provides medical care to dogs, cats, donkeys, and other strays who have nowhere else to go. Without him, these animals would not survive.

There is no government support, no official funding. Everything relies on donations. The need is constant — food, veterinary care, shelter maintenance, rescues, and emergencies.

This fundraiser isn’t for a specific project — it’s to secure the continuation of Mashala Shelter, so that Houssein can keep doing what he does best: saving lives.
