I am currently working in a hospital in Nepal. I perform my duties under Social Welfare Department which provides services to the patients suffering from life threatning diseases and the funds allocated by the government is quite low which doesnt really do much for the treatment. I have often been asked by the patients if there is any other ways that they can be funded as they are financially weak to afford the treatments. Especially, for the cancer patients going through chemotherapy and radiation therapy and for some cases needing complicated surgeries. I came across this idea of raising funds for these poor and suffering patients when I heard some very emotional stories of patients mentioning that they have to take loans with high interest rates and even sell their properties to afford the treatment and by the time when they actually recover for some cases they have nothing left to their name. It is really hard for them to live a life even though their cancer gets cured due to financia hardships.
So, My ultimate goal or motive for this fundraising is to be able to help those patients who are financially weak and suffering from cancer and are undergoing treatment. If this fundraising becomes successful I will be able to support many families in Nepal to better their lives.
