She had five children. One died the day he was born from a sudden illness. She suffered for months from that loss. My mother worked in the fields with her father until she could barely support herself, and she raised the four of us. I am the eldest of those four children.
About a year ago, my mother was diagnosed with cancer. Her three remaining children, who did not know her qualities, abandoned her. But as the eldest son, I cannot leave my mother alone at this time. My father is also very old now.
